New Bank President
On July 18, 2019, the board of Directors voted unanimously to promote Brice Howard from Chief
Lending Officer to the position of Bank President.
Since joining American Bank in April of 2017, Brice has been an integral part of our growth. He has helped improve asset quality, brought on high-performing lending officers, helped build our credit department and current credit policy, aided in restructuring our loan operations and it’s processes, was a key figure in the opening and growth of our Terrytown office, and has represented the bank in our community with great honesty and integrity. We are excited about our future and proud to have Brice Howard represent us as President of American Bank and Trust. Brice graduated top 10 in his class, with honors from Archbishop Rummel High School. He also graduated on the Dean’s list, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management from the University of New Orleans. He started his banking career in 1992 as a part time drive-up teller while completing his degree. He’s held numerous positions in banking over his 27-year career, such as Credit Analyst, Portfolio Manager, and Senior Vice President of Business Development and Commercial Lending.
Brice has volunteered as a mentor and tutor for the children of the Missionary Baptist Church in Kenner. He also served the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation as a volunteer, the Back to the Beach Festival as a finance board member, and the Got Our Troops Foundation, where he is a current member, and former board member and Treasurer.
Brice was born and raised in Metairie, LA, but has been a resident of the Northshore since 1995. Brice is married to Georgia Melerine Howard since 2002, and currently resides in Ponchatoula, LA with his father, and their 6 rescue Shih-Tzus. Brice most recently held the position of Executive Vice President, and Chief Lending Officer at
American Bank and Trust.
